Saudi Mechanical Industries Co. is seeking a Logistics Officer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves managing the movement of goods and ensuring efficient supply chain operations within the country and internationally.

Role Overview

The Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating and tracking shipments, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. This position requires a professional who can manage the logistics process from order receipt to final delivery, focusing on cost-effectiveness and adherence to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track shipments, including managing material pulling and packing, and arranging transportation upon receipt of order requests or purchase orders.
• Perform freight consolidation, cost analysis, routing, and scheduling.
• Track shipments to ensure timely arrival and adherence to pertinent regulations.
• Manage the movement of goods from other countries, ensuring timely transit and delivery through liaison with overseas offices, partners, or agents.
• Arrange and complete all associated paperwork, documenting imported goods to ensure legality and legitimacy.
• Verify that all imports comply with import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements, and Customs regulations.
• Understand and apply the Saber platform and its requirements.
• Cost jobs and ensure maximum profitability for the organization.
• Check incoming goods against paperwork to ensure all ordered goods are accounted for.
• Establish contacts and relationships with freight forwarders to facilitate efficient and legal transfer of goods.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet customer needs.
• Create shipping and delivery routes and schedules.
• Track shipment progress and analyze supply chain systems to ensure all logistics aspects (shipping, warehousing, procurement) work together for timely order fulfillment and material delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a related field.
• Experience working for a freight forwarder/agent or directly for an importer.
• Demonstrated understanding of import regulations, customs procedures, and trade agreements.
• Familiarity with the Saber platform is required.

Required Skills

• Strong organizational and coordination skills.

• Proficiency in creating shipping and delivery schedules.
• Understanding of safety and security processes and procedures in logistics.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills for interacting with overseas partners and agents.
