Network Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Tangent International is seeking an experienced SDN & SDS Network/Storage Engineer to manage and operate software-defined networking, enterprise networking, and software-defined storage infrastructure. This infrastructure supports business-critical BSS applications. The role is full-time and based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Context

This position requires strong hands-on experience across SDN, enterprise LAN/WAN, network security, and SDS technologies. Ideal candidates will have experience within a telecoms or similarly complex enterprise environment, supporting critical BSS workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer SDN environments, including Cisco ACI, VMware NSX-T, OpenDaylight, or equivalent platforms.
• Manage enterprise LAN switching and WAN routing infrastructure.
• Configure and support firewalls such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Juniper.
• Administer load-balancing technologies, including F5 and Nginx.
• Manage SDS platforms, including Ceph, ScaleIO/PowerFlex, or equivalent.
• Configure VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and network segmentation.
• Manage firewall policies, ACLs, NAT, and VPN configurations.
• Monitor network bandwidth, latency, packet loss, availability, capacity, and storage I/O.
• Troubleshoot L2 network and storage incidents.
• Perform network and storage capacity planning.
• Support disaster recovery and failover testing.
• Maintain network topology diagrams and storage documentation.
• Coordinate complex incident resolution and firmware upgrades with L3 teams and vendors.
• Execute infrastructure changes in accordance with Change Management processes.
• Support OpenStack networking and storage components, including Neutron, Cinder, and Manila.
• Utilize Ansible for network configuration and storage provisioning automation.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in SDN, enterprise networking, network security, and SDS technologies.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with the technologies listed under responsibilities.
• Experience within a telecoms or similarly complex enterprise environment is preferred.
