About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the Clinical Nuclear Medicine (CNM) department. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to a leading healthcare institution, focusing on patient care, quality, and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review exam requisitions and protocols, seeking clarification from supervisors as needed, and prepare for each examination.
  • Perform imaging procedures with an emphasis on patient care, ensuring high-quality results and efficient time management, while communicating with CNM physicians to achieve satisfactory images.
  • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals and conduct rigorous quality control checks, including assessments of chemical purity and calibration.
  • Adhere strictly to physician's orders, select appropriate radiopharmaceuticals and dosages, and consult with the physician when necessary.
  • Explain procedures to patients, administer radiopharmaceuticals, conduct studies, and promptly report any issues encountered to the supervisor.
  • Observe and enforce all radiation safety protocols, including the use of protective shielding, proper handling, and appropriate disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or repair needs, and accurately document all testing and study procedures.
  • Participate in in-service training, continuing education programs, and the PI Process, while also assisting in the training and evaluation of students, interns, and trainees.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, national regulations, radiation safety standards, and the ALARA principles and quality improvement programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • For Saudi Nationals: A Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine, Radiological Sciences, or Radiological Technology is required.
  • For Non-Saudi Nationals: Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program (minimum 2 years) is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related experience is required for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of related experience is required for candidates who graduated from a Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current registration from the country of origin is mandatory.
  • Current registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist is mandatory, including one of the following: NMTCB, ARRT, ASCP, or CAMRT, or an equivalent certification for non-Saudis.
