Operations and Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

The Natural Gas Distribution Company (NGDC) is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing the operation and maintenance of natural gas distribution facilities, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on natural gas pipeline distribution projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate technical documents, including project design drawings, equipment specifications, technical bids, and vendor data/information and offers.
• Respond promptly to incoming correspondences related to operations and maintenance.
• Assist in monitoring the day-to-day operation of gas distribution systems and manage 24-hour emergency responses.
• Perform required tasks concerning the operation and maintenance of facilities in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Prepare and update schedules, and execute routine and preventive maintenance activities.
• Attend design progress review and technical meetings as required.
• Perform all other assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must hold a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in natural gas pipeline distribution projects and operation/maintenance.
• Design experience is required.
• Familiarity with international industry standards and knowledge of Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards & procedures will be considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated knowledge in the review of technical documents, including project design drawings, equipment specifications, and the evaluation of vendor data/information and offers.
• Capability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot Gas Metering Systems, SCADA, Gas Leak Detection, and Cathodic Protection.
• Computer literacy is a mandatory requirement.
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and oral, is essential.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Natural Gas Distribution Company. The role involves working within a team responsible for maintaining critical gas distribution infrastructure and responding to operational needs.
