About the Role
Fakeeh Care Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced PACU Registered Nurse to join its full-time team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role requires 5-10 years of professional nursing experience and focuses on providing high-quality post-anesthesia care, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining efficient unit operations within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery, including overseeing patient assessments, care plans, and treatment interventions.
- Supervise and support nursing staff and students, managing shift schedules, workloads, and providing guidance and preceptorship.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided by the nursing team, addressing issues related to patient safety and care standards.
- Conduct purposeful rounding on the unit to interact with patients and staff, ensuring needs are met, preventing complications, and improving overall care quality.
- Coordinate patient care with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive and continuous care.
- Oversee accurate and timely patient care and nursing documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Organize and oversee the unit's daily activities, including patient monitoring, procedures, admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring all tasks are completed promptly.
- Conduct unit rounds every shift to ensure all rooms are ready for use and required maintenance requests are in place.
- Ensure the completion of daily unit assignments and countercheck the compliance of all unit staff.
- Ensure compliance with infection control practices by all disciplines and monitor adherence to all relevant bundles.
- Lead the response to emergencies, coordinating with emergency services and ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
- Address and resolve unexpected issues or complications during patient care or within the unit.
- Manage and oversee medical supplies and equipment, ensuring necessary resources are available and in good condition.
- Monitor and manage the unit’s budget, including controlling costs and ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Provide leadership and support to the nursing team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Make critical decisions regarding patient care, staff management, and operational issues, often under pressure and with limited information.
Professional Development and Collaboration
- Support staff training and continuing education to ensure nursing staff remain current with best practices and new developments in healthcare.
- Support and participate in continuous educational activities.
- Conduct performance evaluations for nursing staff during the shift, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Conduct safety huddles at the beginning of the shift or as needed to enhance patient safety and improve communication among the healthcare team.
- Facilitate effective communication within the nursing team and between different departments, ensuring information is shared promptly and accurately.
- Escalate concerns to the unit manager, nursing supervisor, and multidisciplinary team as required.
- Address patient and family concerns, updating patient status and ensuring their needs and preferences are considered.
- Manage and resolve conflicts or issues among staff, patients, or families professionally and constructively.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
Qualifications and Certifications
- 5-10 years of professional nursing experience.
- Valid nursing license from the country of origin.
- License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority (*, SCFHS / DHA).
- Current BLS, ACLS, and other relevant LSTC courses as applicable.
