The Role of Planning Specialist

Salehiya Healthcare is seeking a Planning Specialist to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring optimal customer demand fulfillment while managing inventory levels effectively. The specialist will be responsible for generating necessary inventory for future demand through forecasting systems and best practices, minimizing excess stock and stockouts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, customer insights, seasonality, and business requirements.
• Prepare and execute demand and supply plans based on agreed planning parameters, including safety stock, lead time, MOQ, Min-Max levels, and inventory targets.
• Optimize inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock, stockouts, obsolescence, expiry risks, and carrying costs.
• Monitor supply chain performance to ensure products are available on time and in full (OTIF) to support sales and customer service objectives.
• Manage procurement planning activities, including evaluating purchase requisitions, creating purchase orders in SAP, and ensuring compliance with purchasing policies.
• Coordinate and maintain supplier relationships, evaluate supplier performance, support vendor selection, and ensure timely delivery.
• Review and manage shipment documentation and inbound logistics activities, including shipping follow-up, customs clearance coordination, and goods receipt processes.
• Collaborate with regulatory and operational teams to ensure compliance with SFDA requirements, product approvals, and related documentation.
• Conduct inventory analysis, including ABC classification, stock turnover, aging stock reviews, and slow-moving/non-saleable inventory assessments.
• Identify inventory risks and recommend corrective actions to prevent overstock, stock shortages, expired inventory, and supply disruptions.
• Prepare, analyze, and present planning reports, dashboards, and performance insights for S&OP, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), and management meetings.
• Support and participate in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, including data preparation, meeting coordination, and action tracking.
• Monitor and report key planning KPIs, including forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, days inventory outstanding (DIO), and service levels.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Warehousing, and Supply Chain.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying planning process gaps, resolving operational issues, and enhancing forecasting accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a planning or supply chain role.
