Role Overview

The POS Design Engineer will apply electrical engineering expertise to deliver efficient and reliable electrical systems for traction projects. This role involves working collaboratively with various internal teams, including engineering, field operations, and support functions. The engineer will assist the POS Project Engineering Manager with engineering activities and ensure compliance with technical and quality standards. Key responsibilities include developing electrical architectures, technical specifications, and functional designs, as well as supporting supplier equipment validation and providing technical expertise to field operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic engineering activities for high voltage, medium voltage, traction, and low voltage systems.
• Provide electrical architectures, technical specifications, and interface specifications.
• Develop calculation notes to support design decisions.
• Validate supplier equipment offers and technical drawings.
• Support factory test procedures and participate in factory acceptance tests.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Provide technical support to field operations teams.
• Participate in the creation of as-built documentation and Return of Experience (REX) reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant electrical engineering role.
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems for traction projects.
• Ability to develop electrical architectures, technical specifications, and functional designs.
• Experience with supplier equipment validation and technical support for field operations.
