POS Design Engineer

About the Role

Alstom is seeking a POS Design Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time position involves assisting the Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) with engineering activities for traction projects, focusing on high, medium, traction, and low voltage disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic engineering activities for high voltage, medium voltage, traction, and low voltage systems within projects or programs.
• Provide electrical architectures, technical specifications, functional specifications, and interface specifications.
• Generate calculation notes and ensure technical validation of supplier equipment offers.
• Execute detailed engineering activities, including following up on and validating technical drawings from equipment suppliers.
• Develop factory test procedures for equipment and participate in factory acceptance tests.
• Assist the POS Design Leader in coordinating with the POS engineering team (including automation and installation), other project sub-systems (Systems, civil works, SCADA, catenary, return current, EMC, earthing & bonding), customers, project management, suppliers, subcontractors, and partners.
• Provide technical support to Field Operations (Installation and Test and Commissioning) teams for design-related issues.
• Participate in As-built documentation drawing modifications, if required.
• Contribute to the Return of Experience (REX) process for projects and programs.

• Guarantee 100% respect for the performance requirements of the provided system.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in engineering design, particularly within high voltage, medium voltage, traction, and low voltage systems. A strong understanding of electrical architectures, technical specifications, and calculation methodologies is essential.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time position within Alstom. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various engineering teams, project management, and external stakeholders.
