About the Role

SJ Group, a recognized leader in urban and infrastructure consulting, is seeking a Proposal Airport Engineer to join its regional aviation team. This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is integral to supporting the preparation of technical proposals and conducting planning studies for airport infrastructure projects across the Middle East. The position will focus on proposal development, technical coordination, and airport planning, with an emphasis on terminal and airside infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive technical content, methodologies, and scope narratives for aviation-related proposals.
• Review client Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to identify potential technical risks and opportunities.
• Support airport planning studies, including the development of layouts and technical reports.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary technical inputs from various teams across aviation projects.
• Assist in the preparation of proposal presentations, technical reviews, and submission activities.
• Ensure all proposed solutions and plans align with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association (IATA), and relevant aviation standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Aviation Engineering, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in airport planning, design, or aviation proposal development.
• Demonstrated experience with airport infrastructure and multidisciplinary aviation projects.
• Proven track record in supporting technical proposals and tender submissions.
• Experience with aviation projects in the Middle East region is highly preferred.

Required Skills

• Exceptional technical writing and proposal preparation capabilities.
• A strong understanding of terminal, airside, and general airport planning principles.
• The ability to effectively coordinate multiple technical disciplines and manage competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Sound commercial awareness and a solid understanding of pursuit strategies.

Work Environment and Additional Information

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, within the Riyadh Region of Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role involves supporting the preparation of technical proposals and conducting planning studies for airport infrastructure projects.
