About the Quality and Medical Audit Manager Role

This full-time position is for a Quality and Medical Audit Manager based in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. The role is responsible for overseeing quality assurance, clinical audit, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives within healthcare services. The objective is to ensure that clinical and operational practices align with internal standards, regulatory requirements, accreditation expectations, and patient safety goals.

Quality Governance and Framework Development

The Quality and Medical Audit Manager will develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management frameworks, policies, procedures, and audit tools. This includes supporting the establishment of clinical governance standards across various medical, rehabilitation, sports medicine, wellness, and support services. The role ensures that quality programs are aligned with organizational objectives, regulatory mandates, and healthcare best practices, while also assisting leadership in defining quality priorities, improvement plans, and reporting requirements.

Medical Audit Planning and Execution

Responsibilities include developing annual and periodic medical audit plans based on identified risk areas, service priorities, regulatory mandates, and leadership direction. The manager will conduct audits of clinical documentation, patient records, treatment pathways, coding accuracy, medical protocols, and service delivery processes. This involves reviewing compliance with clinical guidelines, documentation standards, patient safety practices, consent processes, and care pathways, and subsequently identifying audit findings, root causes, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Clear audit reports detailing findings, risk ratings, recommendations, and corrective action requirements will be prepared.

Compliance Monitoring and Patient Safety

This role involves monitoring adherence to healthcare regulations, licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and internal policies. Support will be provided for internal reviews, external audits, accreditation visits, and regulatory inspections, with the maintenance of audit evidence, compliance documentation, quality records, and corrective action trackers. The manager will also support patient safety programs, incident reporting, risk assessments, and investigation processes, analyzing incidents, near misses, complaints, and quality indicators to identify risks and system gaps. Support for root cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventive actions is also a key function, along with monitoring the implementation of risk mitigation plans and escalating significant risks to leadership.

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

The Quality and Medical Audit Manager will define and track quality KPIs, audit indicators, patient safety measures, compliance scores, and corrective action progress. Dashboards, reports, and presentations will be prepared for leadership and governance committees, analyzing trends in audit findings, incidents, complaints, documentation quality, and clinical outcomes to provide actionable insights. The role leads quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, service consistency, documentation quality, and compliance, ensuring timely closure of corrective and preventive action plans and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role requires collaboration with physicians, therapists, nurses, and operational and administrative teams, providing guidance and awareness sessions on quality standards, audit requirements, and compliance expectations. The manager will act as a quality advisor to clinical and operational teams, supporting them in understanding audit findings and implementing corrective actions.
