About the Role: Quantity Surveyor (QS)

Sama Construction & Contracting is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves managing commercial, contractual, and quantity estimation functions for large-scale Infrastructure and Mass Earthworks projects. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience and a strong commitment to precision and detail.

Role Context and Purpose

The Quantity Surveyor will play a critical role in ensuring financial control and contractual compliance across our projects. This includes responsibility for accurate earthwork quantity takeoffs, processing interim payment certificates and variation orders, managing sub-contractor billings, and maintaining strict cost control throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of handling complex project documentation and financial assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for mass earthworks, excavation, backfilling, grading, and infrastructure utilities.
  • Prepare, verify, and process monthly Interim Payment Applications (IPAs) for clients and sub-contractors.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and process variation orders, scope changes, and commercial claims.
  • Conduct cost analysis, monitor project cash flow, and assist in maintaining the project budget.
  • Reconcile site executed quantities against contractual drawings, survey data, and sub-contract agreements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within infrastructure and mass earthworks projects.
  • Demonstrated precision and a detail-oriented approach to quantity estimation and cost control.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in using Civil 3D for quantity takeoffs.
  • Experience with Bills of Quantities (BOQs).

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working on significant infrastructure and mass earthworks projects, contributing to the region's development.
