The Role of Quantity Surveyor

Mace is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a full-time position in Riyadh, Riyadh. This role involves managing the commercial delivery of work packages, collaborating with package managers and the project commercial lead. The primary objective is to safeguard margin, control costs, and enhance performance through robust risk and opportunity management. The project is an ultra-luxury residential and hospitality development with significant civils and infrastructure scope, delivered rapidly through Mace as a Project Management Consultant with FIDIC Engineer responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote Mace's Safety First value, exhibiting visible safety behaviours, sharing lessons learned, and utilising safety moments and Mace's HSW framework to support staff safety and wellbeing.
• Possess technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to the project portfolio.
• Promote a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of team wellbeing.
• Ensure robust quality systems are in place and managed in line with service excellence.
• Manage project delivery from inception/brief through design development, planning, contractor procurement, and construction phase, in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed milestones.
• Manage tasks and deliverables in support of the Associate Director and other senior leaders, alongside wider project and client teams, to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
• Manage project budgets and highlight any risks, challenges, and mitigations.
• Support the long-term development of the function or Business Unit (BU), contributing to a sustainable business future.
• Commit to making a positive impact for people, clients, and the planet, and take ownership for holding others accountable to Mace values.
• Manage design and wider consultant teams collaboratively to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
• Lead and manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace Group, Centres of Excellence, Mace Way Control Centre, and Knowledge Hub.

Specific Accountabilities

• Champion safety, wellbeing, inclusivity, and responsible delivery across every project.
• Deliver projects through clear planning, quality systems, and strong stakeholder collaboration.
• Supervise change and commercial performance with integrity.
• Lead teams to achieve KPIs, share best practice, and unlock potential across Mace.
• Manage subcontract packages from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare tender documentation, administer tenders, and support material procurement.
• Report commercial performance, cost control, change, risk, and opportunity to protect margin.
• Collaborate across teams to drive value engineering, reduce carbon, and deliver shared outcomes.
