About the Role: Registrar Radiologist

National Medical Care Company (Care) is seeking a dedicated Registrar Radiologist for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is designed for professionals with 2-5 years of experience who demonstrate strong clinical skills and potential for career advancement or sub-specialization within radiology. The Registrar Radiologist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services and patient care.

Core Responsibilities and Patient Care

The Registrar Radiologist is responsible for performing and reporting on radiological procedures and scans, including viewing, reading, and diagnosing examinations through the PAC's system. A key aspect of this role involves providing direct care to patients during radiological procedures, ensuring a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion, and understanding for every patient served at NMC Hospitals and Clinics.

Clinical Practice and Procedural Expertise

• Practices within the framework of clinical privilege for both in-patients and out-patients.
• Reports on X-ray procedures and scans in a systematic, informative, and conclusive manner.
• Approves reports of X-ray plain examinations and special procedures through the PAC's system promptly after transcription.
• Skillfully performs and reports on fluoroscopic vascular or other diagnostic procedures.
• Performs specialized procedures independently, commensurate with experience and skills, according to department protocols.
• Provides consultation to medical staff on diagnostic plans and priorities.
• Supervises various scanning techniques assigned.

Professional Development and Team Collaboration

• Assumes an active part in the on-call duty rotations within the department.
• Supervises junior staff (Registrars and Residents) in conducting their duties and responsibilities as designated by the Radiology department.
• Seeks the advice and guidance of Consultant Radiologists whenever a patient's condition merits further expertise.
• Seizes opportunities to discuss theoretical and technical aspects of radiology with consultants.
• Participates in the department’s educational and training activities, including rotating through specialized units under the supervision of consultants.
• Provides clinical follow-up of patient progress and management as requested by consultants.

Patient and Family Education

• Responsible for educating patients/families as per their needs and implementing their role regarding the patient/family education process, including documentation in the patient medical record.
• Involves patients/families in the plan of care and respects their goals and choices of patient care.
• Provides health promotion and health teaching through methods appropriate to a patient’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness and ability to learn, language preference, culture, and situations.
• Allots time necessary to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient education provided to patients/families with appropriate documentation.

Compliance and Reporting Structure

The Registrar Radiologist must perform duties in accordance with professional medical ethics, CBAHI/JCIA standards, Hospital medical by-laws, and the Laws of the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Knowledge of the Policies and procedures of the Radiology Department and Riyadh Care Hospital by-laws and Rules and regulations is essential. This position reports directly to the Head of Department and provides supervision to Registrars and Residents within the Department of Radiology. The role also involves performing other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
