About the Safety Specialist Role
KONE is seeking a Safety Specialist to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on enhancing and maintaining KONE's safety culture and practices, contributing to a better world of work through excellent people practices and a commitment to quality and efficiency. The role is integral to fostering a collaborative, diverse, and supportive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Specialist will be responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of KONE's safety management system, encompassing worker, user, and third-party safety. This includes cultivating a proactive safety culture, acting as a role model, and collaborating with the unit safety team to compile and enhance safety documentation. The role involves active participation in safety committees and forums, providing professional safety advice, and planning and implementing safety improvement projects. Close collaboration with customers, partners, and subcontractors is expected, along with supporting the development and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans.
Safety Risk Management and Assurance
This position involves monitoring and developing safety risk management processes, tools, and practices, and supporting safety-related change management initiatives. Key duties include collecting and ensuring the accuracy of safety data, reporting performance, and monitoring legal and business environment developments in safety. Regular safety audits will be conducted to verify compliance and identify risks. The specialist will assist line management with audits, support audit process improvements, and analyze and investigate incidents, contributing to process enhancement. Management of corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement is also a core function.
Safety Promotion and Development
The Safety Specialist is expected to develop their own competencies in cooperation with their manager. This role will also support the training and development of other team members' safety competencies within the unit. Proactive communication of safety information, including investigation outcomes and best practices, is a vital aspect of this position.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety within the elevators, construction, or related industries.
- Mandatory NEBOSH and IOSH certifications.
- Excellent English and Arabic language skills.
