About the Role

Buruoj Engineering Consultant is seeking a Senior Architect / Project Manager to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves leading and coordinating high-end, complex architectural projects from initial concept through to final delivery.

Project Leadership and Coordination

The Senior Architect / Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing architectural projects from concept design through to tender and construction documentation. This includes acting as the primary project coordinator between clients, internal design teams, subconsultants, and relevant authorities. Key duties involve managing project scope, design deliverables, schedules, technical quality, and coordination workflows. The role requires identifying and proposing solutions for design risks, coordination issues, and authority approval challenges. Regular project meetings, progress updates, and follow-up on action items with all stakeholders are essential. Ensuring project deliverables meet client requirements, contractual obligations, and office quality standards is a core function.

Architectural Design and Technical Oversight

This position leads the development of architectural design packages for high-end and complex projects. Responsibilities include reviewing and enhancing design concepts, layouts, facade approaches, planning solutions, and technical details. The role ensures architectural drawings and documentation are technically accurate, coordinated, and buildable. Close coordination with structural, MEP, fire/life safety, landscape, interior design, facade, and specialist consultants is required. A critical aspect involves reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, BIM models, reports, and design submissions prior to issuance. Compliance with the Saudi Building Code, municipal requirements, Civil Defence regulations, accessibility standards, and other local regulations is mandatory.

BIM and Stakeholder Management

The role involves leading BIM-based coordination efforts with internal teams, external consultants, and subconsultants. This includes reviewing architectural BIM models for quality, coordination, and compliance, as well as coordinating clash detection, model reviews, and interdisciplinary design integration. Ensuring BIM deliverables align with project standards and client requirements is crucial. The Senior Architect / Project Manager will communicate professionally with clients, developers, contractors, authorities, and consultants, supporting authority submission processes and responding to technical comments. Representing the company in design coordination meetings and preparing clear written and verbal communications in English are also key responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in high-end complex projects such as luxury developments, hospitality, mixed-use projects, towers, or large-scale commercial developments.
• Experience in high-rise building projects within engineering consultancy or design consultancy firms.
• Strong architectural design background with excellent technical detailing and coordination capabilities.
• Proficiency in Saudi codes and local authority requirements, including municipal and Civil Defence regulations.
• Strong BIM capability, preferably with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and specialist subconsultants.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to join immediately or on short notice.

Technical and Software Proficiency

• Advanced proficiency in Revit Architecture and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Navisworks and BIM coordination tools.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with design presentation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, or Lumion is an advantage.
