About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Senior CAD / BIM Designer for its Ops Village project in Riyadh. This full-time position involves contributing to a significant greenfield gold project, which includes open pit mining operations, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and reviewing control systems design work. This includes producing drawings and documentation, and preparing design estimates for the project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. A key aspect of this position is solving complex technical issues and ensuring that control systems designs comply with all relevant regulations and standards.

• Create models and drawings to support design, permitting, and construction activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality, and cost objectives.
• Review consultant/contractor 3D models and drawings in accordance with client CAD and BIM Standards.
• Support the management of the drawing mark-up process, maintaining all previous mark-up and revision history.
• Proactively coordinate project drawing requirements among design colleagues, project managers, and external consultants.
• Provide CAD drafting and Revit modeling services, along with technical support, to project teams as required.
• Produce models, drawings (including drafting), and documentation in accordance with established design standards for civil works, including earthwork, road and drainage structures, MEP, and Architectural works.
• Ensure that all produced drawings are fully coordinated across all disciplines and meet stakeholder requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience, with a preference for 13 years, including at least 5 years within a BIM environment. Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit Multidiscipline suites is essential. Experience in the production of CSA/MEP drawings and familiarity with drawing office data registers and repositories are also required. Candidates should be experienced in developing designs within project models using appropriate families and systems for all disciplines, and have experience validating as-built information against client requirements.

Required Knowledge and Skills

This role requires a sound knowledge of drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline. Expertise in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups is necessary. Candidates must have knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials relevant to design responsibilities. Experience in design and drafting, including demonstrated expertise in a lead role or recognized courses in directing personnel, is also a key requirement.
