Senior Electrical Engineer Project

About the Role

Albawani is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer Project to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is responsible for the technical delivery, coordination, and constructability of all electrical works within Design & Build projects, encompassing power distribution, lighting, ELV systems, and associated infrastructure. The Senior Electrical Engineer reports to the MEPF Design / Technical Manager and acts as the discipline lead for electrical works, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, authority regulations, program constraints, safety standards, and site execution needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve electrical design outputs, including drawings, models, specifications, shop drawings, and technical submissions, ensuring compliance with Employer’s Requirements, contract documents, codes, standards, and authority regulations.
• Identify and resolve design clashes, constructability issues, and interface risks across disciplines, ensuring full coordination of electrical systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other building systems.
• Provide day-to-day electrical engineering leadership on site, addressing RFIs, technical queries, and construction challenges, and verifying compliance of electrical works with approved drawings and specifications.
• Review electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for compliance with design intent, providing clear and timely technical comments to support approvals and construction progress.
• Lead responses to RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), and site clarifications related to electrical works, proposing practical, buildable solutions to site challenges.
• Support planning and monitoring of electrical design deliverables in line with project program requirements, coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Contribute to lessons learned related to electrical systems, constructability, and project delivery, and provide mentoring and technical guidance to electrical engineers and site staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 10-12 years of relevant engineering experience within design, construction, or Design & Build project environments.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering deliverables, including design drawings, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Sound working knowledge of building systems and discipline interfaces (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical).
• Proficient in technical documentation, review workflows, and engineering coordination processes.

Work Environment and Contacts

The role operates within a site office environment, focusing on Design & Build engineering projects within the construction industry. It involves multidisciplinary engineering coordination across design and site delivery stages. Internal contacts include the MEPF Design/Technical Manager, Senior Design Manager, Technical Director, various Discipline Engineers, and Construction/Operations teams. External contacts extend to Lead Design Consultants, Subconsultants, Electrical Subcontractors, Vendors/Suppliers, Client/PMC Representatives, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
