Role Overview

This position is for a Senior Facade Engineer to support the construction-stage delivery of a large-scale hospitality project in Riyadh. The role is site-based and involves working as part of an established engineering team. The primary focus will be on ensuring the quality and compliance of facade works throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

• Review contractor shop drawings, calculations, material submittals, method statements, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Undertake inspections of facade works on site.
• Monitor mock-ups, testing, and installation quality.
• Verify compliance with design intent, specifications, and approved details.
• Coordinate with the client, project manager, main contractor, specialist facade subcontractors, and Cundall's multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactively identify technical and quality risks.
• Resolve site issues and report on progress.
• Support the safe and timely delivery of the facade package.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a BEng degree or equivalent in facade engineering, civil/structural engineering, architecture, architectural technology, or a related discipline. Strong practical experience in facade engineering and construction-stage site delivery is required. A sound technical understanding of various facade systems, including stick curtain walling, aluminium and glass systems, metal and stone cladding, windows & doors, skylights, waterproofing, and critical interfaces, is essential.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Proven site-based facade engineering experience on major hospitality, mixed-use, or complex building projects, preferably in KSA or the Gulf region.
• Experience reviewing facade shop drawings, calculations, material submissions, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), mock-ups, and performance test documentation.
• Ability to conduct site inspections, record and close observations, support RFI/Non-Conformance Report (NCR) responses, and track quality and compliance during installation.
• Working knowledge of relevant KSA, GCC, and international facade codes, standards, and typical project specifications.
• Excellent communication, clear technical reporting, and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently on site while collaborating effectively with clients, contractors, specialist subcontractors, and multidisciplinary professionals.
