Senior Field Service Engineer MV Drives & Soft Starter Systems

About the Role

Vulcain Engineering Group is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer specializing in MV Drives & Soft Starter Systems. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 5-10 years of experience. The role involves supporting the installation, commissioning, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade of Medium Voltage Variable Speed Drive (VSD) and Soft Starter systems across industrial and energy projects.

The successful candidate will provide on-site technical expertise, lead field activities, and ensure the reliable operation of critical electrical drive systems for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, commissioning, startup, refurbishment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of Medium Voltage Soft Starters and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) systems, including Voltage Source Inverters (VSI) and Load Commutated Inverters (LCI) for applications such as pumps, compressors, and turbines.
• Provide rapid response and technical support for emergency repairs and field service interventions.
• Deliver technical guidance and training to customer personnel on the operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of drive systems.
• Diagnose complex electrical and control system issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Lead and supervise on-site teams, contractors, and skilled technicians during project execution.
• Prepare accurate technical reports, service records, inspection reports, timesheets, expense reports, and customer documentation.
• Coordinate material requirements, quotations, and field execution planning activities.
• Ensure all work complies with company and customer HSE requirements and industry best practices.
• Maintain a strong safety culture while delivering high-quality technical services.
• Provide detailed outage and maintenance reports to support future reliability and asset performance improvements.
