Senior Manager Business Development

About the Role

Acwa is seeking a Senior Manager Business Development to lead and implement business development strategies for various Renewables technologies, including PV, BESS, Wind, and Green Hydrogen. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves guiding all business development activities from opportunity identification to project handover to the Assets team. The primary goal is to expand the Company’s asset portfolio and achieve long-term strategic targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the formulation, implementation, and delivery of the Group’s country strategy in line with ACWA’s vision, mission, values, and priorities.
• Translate strategic objectives into operational business plans for the short, medium, and long term for the Business Development function.
• Monitor the performance of the Business Development function, prepare periodic reports, and take necessary actions to achieve targets.
• Lead the identification of suitable Greenfield or Brownfield business opportunities by regularly reviewing the market landscape.
• Execute complex business development activities for allocated project bids, including identifying and sourcing potential partners.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders such as off-takers, contractors, and potential partners.
• Assess the economic viability of business opportunities using preliminary economic models and lead the development of technical configurations.
• Conduct financial feasibility analysis, including valuation analyses, cash flow projections, and ROI analysis, in collaboration with finance teams.
• Participate in the identification and evaluation of potential partners, contractors, suppliers, and technologies that add value to the Company.
• Coordinate with various functions and external parties to collect, organize, and distribute data for bid preparation.
• Develop technical and financial bids, ensuring compliance with RFP requirements and quality standards.
• Participate in negotiations for project bids, providing relevant inputs and expertise.
• Handover legal and project documentation to the Assets team or EPC Contractors upon bid completion.
• Manage project agreements, EPC contracts, and supply agreements.

Leadership and Management

• Manage employees and teams by overseeing performance management, recruitment, learning, and development.
• Foster a highly engaged, competent, and motivated work environment to maximize employee contribution to business performance.
• Recommend and manage the budget for the Business Development function and monitor financial performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in business development, particularly within the Renewables sector.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing business development strategies for technologies such as PV, BESS, Wind, and Green Hydrogen.
• Demonstrated ability to lead feasibility studies, partner selection, resource allocation, and competitive bidding processes.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience with tariff development and competitive bid assessment.
