Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

The Water Transmission Company (شركة نقل المياه) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves overseeing and leading mechanical maintenance operations to ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of equipment and systems, while enhancing technical and economic performance in line with company strategies and best engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure work execution aligns with approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems and practices, focusing on cost reduction, productivity, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, bylaws, and standards within the Water Transmission Company and related functions (*, Human Capital, Industrial Safety and Security, Risk, Cybersecurity).
• Escalate issues to ensure challenges and problems are resolved efficiently and promptly.
• Oversee the implementation of occupational safety systems and regulations, monitor health and safety compliance, and establish preventive measures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
• Lead the development and implementation of emergency maintenance plans, review business continuity plans, and take necessary actions to ensure a rapid response to emergency breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Supervise the planning and execution of preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance, monitor equipment performance, analyze failures, and ensure efficient repair and rehabilitation work by internal teams or external suppliers and contractors, thereby ensuring operational continuity and enhancing asset reliability while reducing downtime.
• Coordinate with relevant internal and external departments and entities to ensure efficient maintenance operations, address operational and technical challenges, and comply with governance, business continuity, and internal audit requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and analysis of all maintenance reports, ensuring data accuracy to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
• Guide engineering and technical teams, evaluate performance, provide necessary training to engineers and technicians, and motivate teams to achieve operational and technical objectives.
• Supervise daily mechanical maintenance activities during annual repair/shutdown periods by assigning specific tasks to technicians and ensuring coordination between shifts.
• Ensure coverage of all assigned mechanical maintenance work orders for technicians.
• Monitor scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance performed by external suppliers and complete performance evaluation records in line with established guidelines, ensuring worker safety, equipment safety, and work quality.
• Provide support to other transmission systems.
• Participate in internal and external committees.
• Oversee the management of spare parts and materials inventory, including planning, analysis, issuance, inventory control, and procurement, ensuring material availability with required quality and timely delivery, while adhering to approved budgets and achieving economic and operational efficiency.
• Supervise the implementation of operational projects, review scope of work, approve engineering modifications to improve equipment performance, and ensure their execution according to technical standards.
• Verify that technicians use the appropriate tools for their tasks.
• Assist in providing and replacing tools used by technicians if their safe performance is compromised.
• Follow up on the entry of maintenance information into the computer system.
• Prepare projects and supervise their implementation for all departmental matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned when needed.
• Receive and cancel work permit requests.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
