Role Overview

Otis is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is responsible for managing installation projects, ensuring timely completion, and adhering to business policies and procedures. The Senior Project Engineer will oversee manpower planning, equipment requisition, and site progress monitoring, as well as manage variation orders based on client specification changes. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage Pre-installation Works:

   • Ensure availability of contractual scope of works and deliveries information.
   • Plan material deliveries in coordination with factory and supply chain.
   • Monitor shaft readiness and verify dimensions against approved shop drawings.
   • Ensure adequate resource planning to meet project requirements.
   • Award Purchase Orders for subcontractors and local materials in conjunction with the Project Manager and supply chain.

2. Coordinate with External Stakeholders:

   • Facilitate approval of shop drawings, technical submittals, material samples, method statements, and Inspection and Test Plans.
   • Plan and arrange logistic programs for safe and timely material deliveries.
   • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the main contractor as required.
   • Attend weekly/bi-weekly meetings with the main contractor.
   • Advise the main contractor of any scope deviations and process variation orders.
   • Carry out technical coordination and planning for elevator interface with Low Voltage devices.

3. Oversee Installation Phase:

   • Ensure availability of adequate resources, including subcontractors and certified tools.
   • Raise Material Inspection Requests upon material deliveries and approval.
   • Maintain proper communication and record-keeping with the main contractor.
   • Monitor installation progress using MS Projects, Primavera, or spreadsheets.
   • Plan risk assessments for hoisting, rigging, and other critical activities.
   • Conduct Tool Box Talks (TBT)/Field Pre-Task Assessments (FPA) and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
   • Raise trouble reports for missing, short-shipped, or defective materials and follow up on deliveries.
   • Provide advice and support to installation teams for any related issues.
   • Ensure installation manuals, engineering drawings, and approved shop drawings are always available.
   • Coordinate with the supply chain for timely ordering and availability of local materials.
   • Ensure in-stage QA/QC is carried out according to company procedures.
   • Ensure T&C plan and adjustor availability to meet project deadlines.
   • Ensure timely readiness of Construction Time Usage as per project requirements.
   • Ensure timely completion of Low Voltage interfaces to elevator systems.
   • Ensure timely submission of monthly interim payment applications and follow up on payments.
   • Carry out third-party inspections as required.
   • Handover units to customers in line with company policy and project requirements.
4. Coordinate with Internal Departments: Liaise with local engineering, factory, supply chain, and finance teams to fulfill project deliveries.
5. Manage Project Budget: Prepare and present cost reviews to finance and management teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex installation projects.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Projects or Primavera.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and quality control.
