Senior Project Manager (MEP)

About the Role

Mace is seeking a Senior Project Manager (MEP) to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This part-time position involves working on one of the largest mixed-use development programmes in Saudi Arabia, which includes sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure. The role focuses on delivery, overseeing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) works throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Context

As a delivery partner, Mace requires experienced professionals to lead integrated teams. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of contractor activities, programme milestones, quality requirements, commercial objectives, and operational readiness. This role serves as the primary interface between stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and project teams to drive delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the delivery of all MEP works through construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual, programme, safety, and quality requirements.
• Monitor delivery progress and proactively manage risks, constraints, and critical path activities.
• Drive programme recovery and mitigation strategies as needed.
• Coordinate with construction, commercial, project controls, design, and stakeholder teams for integrated delivery.
• Review contractor schedules, progress reports, and recovery plans.
• Manage site-based delivery activities and ensure effective coordination across multiple work fronts.
• Chair progress meetings, technical workshops, and package review meetings.
• Ensure testing, commissioning, and handover activities are planned and executed according to project requirements.
• Monitor and manage project risks, opportunities, and change control processes.
• Support commercial teams with the review of claims, variations, and contractual matters.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant codes, standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide regular project reporting to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Promote high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience delivering complex building or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrable experience managing large-scale MEP packages through construction and delivery phases.
• Experience managing main contractors, specialist subcontractors, and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
• Experience within a PMC, client-side, Delivery Partner, or programme management environment is preferred.
• Professional accreditation such as PMP, MCIOB, CEng, PE, or equivalent is desirable.
• Ability to meet necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and possess relevant work experience on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, as required for immigration and client approval.
