The Project and Role Overview

This project involves delivering an ultra-luxury residential and hospitality development, which includes significant civils and infrastructure scope. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will join a Mace team collaborating with architects and global consultants. The project encompasses extensive infrastructure, landscape, and built assets, with Mace serving as a Project Management Consultant with FIDIC Engineer responsibility. The role focuses on managing the commercial delivery of work packages, partnering with package managers and the project commercial lead to protect margin, control costs, and drive performance through risk and opportunity management.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote Mace's Safety First value, exhibiting visible safety behaviours, sharing lessons learned, and utilising safety moments and Mace's HSW framework to support staff safety and wellbeing.
• Possess technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to the project portfolio.
• Promote a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of team wellbeing.
• Ensure robust quality systems are in place and managed in line with service excellence.
• Manage project delivery from inception through design development, planning, contractor procurement, and construction phase, in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed milestones.
• Manage tasks and deliverables in support of the Associate Director and other senior leaders, alongside project and client teams, to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
• Manage project budgets and highlight any risks, challenges, and mitigations.
• Support the long-term development of the function or Business Unit (BU) to create a sustainable business future.
• Commit to making a positive impact for people, clients, and the planet, and hold others accountable for upholding Mace values.
• Manage design and wider consultant teams collaboratively to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
• Lead and manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the knowledge of Mace Group, Centres of Excellence, Mace Way Control Centre, and Knowledge Hub.

Specific Accountabilities

• Champion safety, wellbeing, inclusivity, and responsible delivery across every project.
• Deliver projects through clear planning, quality systems, and strong stakeholder collaboration.
• Supervise change and commercial performance with integrity.
• Lead teams to achieve KPIs, share best practice, and unlock potential across Mace.
• Manage subcontract packages from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare tender documentation, administer tenders, and support material procurement.
• Report commercial performance, cost control, change, risk, and opportunity to protect margin.
• Collaborate across teams to drive value engineering, reduce carbon, and deliver shared outcomes.
