Role Summary

The Senior Specialist - Transport and Distribution will oversee the movement of goods, focusing on optimizing freight costs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing logistical support. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, requires advanced knowledge of various transportation modes, such as air, ocean, and trucking, to facilitate efficient and timely goods movement while minimizing costs and maximizing service levels. The specialist will develop and implement transportation strategies, manage carrier and vendor relationships, and offer strategic guidance to the organization and its clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate transportation operations, including scheduling, shipment tracking, and carrier relationship management.
• Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing and ensure reliable service.
• Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for expense reduction while maintaining service quality.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, customs requirements, and trade laws.
• Provide guidance and support to clients on transportation logistics, routing options, and regulatory considerations.
• Develop and implement strategic transportation plans to optimize service levels, minimize transit times, and reduce costs.
• Track and analyze transportation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and enhance operational efficiency.
• Identify and mitigate transportation-related risks, such as delays, disruptions, and compliance issues.
• Utilize transportation management systems and other technology solutions to streamline operations and improve visibility.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to transportation teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in transportation and distribution roles.

Work Environment
