About the Role

VML is seeking a Senior UI Designer to join its Customer Experience team. This full-time role is based in Riyadh and requires 6+ years of experience in UI and visual design. The position involves working in an embedded capacity with one of Saudi Arabia's leading banks, focusing on visual craft and evolving an enterprise-grade design system.

Role Context

The Senior UI Designer will operate from the client's Riyadh office, collaborating directly with their product and design teams. While embedded, the designer will remain a member of the VML agency team. This client is recognized for its design maturity, possessing a well-established design system, a product-oriented mindset, and a culture that supports design principles. The primary focus will be on producing high-fidelity, pixel-precise UI for a complex suite of digital banking products.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality, high-fidelity UI designs for various digital banking products and features, including mobile app screens and web interfaces.
• Work within an existing enterprise-scale design system, applying components consistently and contributing to its evolution when improvements are identified.
• Translate wireframes, flows, and product requirements into polished, production-ready visual designs that balance aesthetics, usability, and technical feasibility.
• Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and front-end engineers to ensure designs are implemented to the intended visual standard.
• Provide visual design QA during development, reviewing implemented features against design intent and clearly documenting issues.
• Manage workload across multiple concurrent features or product areas, prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced product environment.
• Participate in VML department meetings and contribute to the wider CX team's knowledge sharing and development.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 6+ years of experience in UI and visual design, demonstrated by a portfolio showcasing craft, typographic skill, and attention to detail, hierarchy, and consistency.
• Proven experience working within an enterprise-scale design system, including deep understanding, disciplined application, and structured contribution to its growth.
• Experience designing for complex, large-scale digital products, understanding the challenges of designing at scale and balancing consistency with problem-solving.
• Strong command of Figma, including component architecture, auto-layout, variables, and design token conventions.
• Ability to elevate wireframes or concepts with visual thinking, improving every screen.
• Experience collaborating directly with clients and client-side teams, demonstrating autonomy, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently in an embedded setting while remaining connected to and contributing to a wider agency team.
• Experience in financial services, banking, or a similarly regulated, large-scale product environment is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of usability principles, including Gestalt principles, visual hierarchy, cognitive load, and affordance, applied as practical tools in design decisions.

Additional Requirements and Work Environment

• Must be based in Riyadh or willing to relocate.
• Native Arabic speaker.
• Willingness to dedicate normal working hours (9-6) without other concurrent working commitments.
• Commitment to working from the office each working day.
