Site Reliability Engineer & Observability

About the Role

Acuative Middle East is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer & Observability specialist to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience, focusing on Elasticsearch and observability solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Elastic environments, as well as deploying and managing clusters, developing search solutions, and optimizing performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage monitoring and observability stacks, including Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and Zabbix.
• Build custom dashboards and KPIs to track system health, application performance, and SLIs/SLOs.
• Implement proactive alerting and automate alert rules.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Elasticsearch clusters, and design ETL pipelines and index templates.
• Define metrics, logs, and traces for new services in collaboration with development teams.
• Automate monitoring and alerting configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Linux, Kubernetes/Docker, and cloud infrastructure across OCI, GCP, and Azure.
• Maintain inventory and documentation of deployments.
• Participate in on-call rotations, conduct post-incident reviews, and develop runbooks and playbooks.
• Provide telemetry-driven root cause analysis for incidents.
• Partner with Development, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams to ensure services are properly instrumented.
• Train internal teams on dashboard usage and metrics interpretation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Willingness to travel to KSA as required.

• Proficiency in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Elastic environments.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring collaboration with various internal teams including Development, QA, and Operations.
