About the Role

First Abu Dhabi Bank is seeking a Specialist Account Opening to join their team in Riyadh. This is a full-time supervisory role responsible for establishing and managing the bank's Account Services business. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and focuses on ensuring compliance with FAB Policies & Procedures and international best practices.

Role Purpose and Context

The Specialist Account Opening will oversee the workflow and end-to-end processes within Personal Banking - Account Services. This includes providing uninterrupted back-office support for KSA branches and departments, handling all types of account opening in a centralized environment, and maintaining quality and control. The role emphasizes operational efficiency, risk management, and people management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for systems, processes, and practices, focusing on productivity and cost reduction.
  • Assist in preparing timely and accurate statements and reports.
  • Manage internal customer relationships and ensure consistent quality services, meeting all Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Organize and supervise total activities and end-to-end processes, implementing improvement suggestions for operational quality and efficiency.
  • Manage and control workflow with consideration for operational risk, ensuring adherence to bank policy and procedures.
  • Develop and implement control procedures for new changes to mitigate risk, identifying and addressing all unit risks.
  • Escalate suspicious transactions immediately as per the Escalation Matrix.
  • Monitor staff performance against KPIs, including punctuality, attendance, productivity, quality, and training requirements.
  • Periodically review staff job functions, ensuring full awareness of processes for job rotation and managing staff resources efficiently.
  • Ensure all staff are fully trained, assessing performance, providing feedback, and identifying development opportunities.
  • Manage leave, performance appraisals, and KPI setting for staff.
  • Manage the unit’s functions independently with minimal intervention, accepting additional tasks to avoid service interruption.
  • Suggest enhancements to existing systems to improve efficiency, quality, and control.
  • Ensure best practices are used, and the Policies & Procedures Manual is regularly updated.
  • Maintain effective communication at all levels and ensure timely and accurate Management Information (MI) is generated.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise account services operations.
  • Strong understanding of banking policies, procedures, and international best practices.
  • Experience in operational risk management and control procedures.
  • Proficiency in managing internal customer relationships and service level agreements.
