T&C Protection Engineer

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a T&C Protection Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves ensuring the correct functionality and expected results of facilities, equipment, and plants through comprehensive testing and commissioning activities. The engineer will play a key role in optimizing product and system usage to meet client needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Test main advanced relays, backup relays, and auxiliary relays, executing tasks individually to complete BSP projects.
• Operate various relay software applications.
• Operate secondary and primary current injection kits from different manufacturers.
• Apply thorough knowledge of protection schemes for reading and field verification.
• Identify problems and shortcomings within existing systems.
• Make improvements and provide advice on operational procedures.
• Schedule and coordinate work to meet tight deadlines.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide advice on testing and commissioning procedures and documentation.
• Produce or assist in the production of all test and commissioning documentation.
• Undertake testing and commissioning activities within specified time and cost parameters in line with site requirements.
• Monitor progress, record all test results, witness final testing and acceptance of equipment, and compile all documentation for the site test dossier.
• Ensure the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve necessary plant performance in accordance with project program requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in testing and commissioning, specifically with protection systems.
• Demonstrated competency in testing various types of relays.
• Proficiency in operating relay software applications.
• Ability to operate secondary and primary current injection kits.
• Strong understanding of protection schemes.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, where the engineer will work on various projects, primarily focusing on BSP (Bulk Supply Point) initiatives. The role requires coordination with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
