About the Tax Supervisor Role

Reef Group is seeking a qualified Tax Supervisor to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to overseeing tax and zakat operations, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and supporting the organization’s financial governance and business objectives. The role requires solid experience in Saudi tax and zakat regulations and a strong understanding of tax legislation across the GCC region.

Core Responsibilities

The Tax Supervisor will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

  • Ensuring compliance with Saudi and GCC tax regulations across all business operations and transactions.
  • Monitoring changes in tax legislation, assessing their impact on the Group, and providing recommendations for continued compliance and effective tax risk management.
  • Managing Transfer Pricing matters, including the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing policies, documentation, and compliance with local regulations and international guidelines.
  • Preparing periodic tax and zakat reports for management, highlighting tax positions, key risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Reviewing invoices, accounting entries, and commercial transactions to ensure accurate tax treatment in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Developing and enhancing tax-related policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Supervising and supporting the Tax & Zakat team by assigning responsibilities, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing technical guidance and coaching.
  • Participating in finance transformation initiatives and ERP implementation projects to ensure compliance with tax requirements.

Technical Tax Expertise

The role requires comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in both direct and indirect taxation, including:

  • Direct Taxes: Zakat, Corporate Income Tax, Corporate Tax, Tax Provisions, Tax Planning, and Tax Compliance.
  • Indirect Taxes: Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), Real Estate Transaction Tax (RETT), tax recoveries, and tax reconciliations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following:

  • 5-10 years of experience in a relevant tax and zakat role.
  • Strong understanding of Saudi tax regulations and working knowledge of GCC tax frameworks.
  • Practical experience with Transfer Pricing policies and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (*, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is highly preferred.
  • Preferably located within Saudi Arabia.
