Job Description

About the Role

DPL is seeking a Technical Architect specializing in Sports and Venue Technology Platforms. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involves owning the end-to-end design of digital platforms for modern sports and entertainment venues. The architect will translate business and product requirements into scalable, secure, and integrated architectures, collaborating with domain specialists and delivery teams to ensure design performance.

The position focuses on major sports and entertainment developments across the Kingdom, shaping the digital and data foundations for stadiums, arenas, training facilities, and fan-facing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define complete architectures for fan engagement platforms, ticketing and access control, data platforms, and venue system integrations.
  • Convert business requirements and venue experience concepts into technical plans covering cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, APIs, and third-party integrations.
  • Design data flow between physical venue systems (access control, IoT, point of sale) and digital platforms (apps, CRM, analytics), ensuring a consistent data model.
  • Author and manage technical sections of proposals, tender responses, and client workshops.
  • Support engineering teams during the build phase, ensuring designs account for load, latency, security, and vendor limits.
  • Establish technical standards, reference architectures, and repeatable patterns for application across venues and programs.
  • Act as the technical liaison for industry specialists and business leads, linking architecture decisions to business outcomes.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 7 years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture, preferably on large, multi-system programs.
  • Demonstrated delivery of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), data platforms, and API-led integrations.
  • Practical experience connecting physical and digital environments (IoT, access control, POS, CRM, analytics). Background in smart venues, stadiums, retail, hospitality, or other large facilities is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead client conversations, produce architecture documents, present to technical and executive audiences, and defend design choices.
  • Solid understanding of security, scalability, and data governance for high-volume, real-time workloads such as live event traffic.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with commercially-minded industry specialists.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Right to work and willingness to be based onsite in Riyadh for the duration of the engagement.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Background in sports technology, live entertainment, ticketing, or smart venue platforms.
  • Experience on large-scale developments in the Gulf region.
  • Knowledge of fan engagement products, sports data platforms, or venue management systems.
  • Arabic and/or Spanish language ability.
  • Consulting or professional services experience.

Work Arrangement

This role requires full-time onsite presence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Relocation is necessary for the engagement. The working week follows the Saudi calendar, with flexibility around delivery milestones.

Assessment Criteria
