About BAE SYSTEMS and the Role

BAE SYSTEMS, as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor, provides equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia under existing Government-to-Government arrangements. The company is responsible for the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and the training of RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel. This full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician position is based in Tabuk and involves maintaining Hawk aircraft and support equipment.

Role Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, operation, maintenance, and repair of AMS systems, including the removal and installation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components on Hawk aircraft and associated support equipment. This role ensures that aircraft are maintained to support flying operations, delivering serviceable aircraft to meet contractual operational and flying commitments. The technician will also contribute to the training and development of Saudi National capability, supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to RSAF Policies and procedures, M&CA Mandates, and Rects Maintenance Manager directives.
  • Identify, debrief, and rectify aircraft faults, and schedule aircraft maintenance.
  • Maintain competency and ensure SQEP levels are within mandated limits.
  • Ensure effective delivery of BAE SYSTEMS maintenance support to meet RSAF requirements and mitigate risks to maintenance or safety within RSAF constraints for the Hawk Fleet.
  • Support the Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) to deliver serviceable aircraft to TAGF, fulfilling contractual operational and flying commitments.
  • Train technicians and foster a strong safety culture during fault finding, repair, and delivery of serviceable assets for the daily flying program.
  • Provide accurate and current information to Line Managers to achieve the ETIC schedule and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Manage repairable components within the supply repair channel and ensure efficient supply discipline.
  • Ensure procedural compliance for Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration, Support Equipment maintenance, and the Tool Control system.
  • Provide and support On-the-Job Training (OJT) for RSAF/FLMCT and SNTTP trainees.
  • Prepare reports as directed, including training reports in accordance with policy.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A recognized qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or an equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
  • Alternatively, a Part 66 license (current or lapsed), or an equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment-specific training, if required.
  • Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training, OR substantial experience with the same aircraft type, OR successful completion of the BAESSA apprenticeship program (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
  • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety, and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
  • Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration is required.

This role is a full-time position based in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, supporting BAE SYSTEMS' commitment to the Royal Saudi Air Force.
