SLS The Red Sea is a hospitality property located on the Red Sea coast in Saudi Arabia, operating as part of Ennismore’s portfolio. The resort features 150 guest rooms, five Food & Beverage venues, and a spa. It is known for its design and service approach within the hospitality sector.

Role Summary: Commis Lobby Lounge

As a Commis Lobby Lounge at SLS The Red Sea, you will support the culinary team in the daily preparation and service of food within the Lobby Lounge. This full-time role involves ensuring that ingredients are handled with care and that dishes are prepared and presented according to established standards. You will contribute to maintaining consistency, efficiency, and adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols, working closely with the Chef de Partie and the wider culinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist in the execution of dishes in accordance with established recipes, culinary standards, and instructions from senior chefs.
  • Complete daily mise en place and ensure the assigned workstation is prepared, organized, clean, and adequately stocked throughout service.
  • Assist with the preparation, handling, and portioning of ingredients to ensure freshness, quality, and consistency.
  • Support the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie during service to ensure timely and efficient execution.
  • Follow established recipes, preparation methods, portion control guidelines, and presentation standards to maintain consistency.
  • Handle, store, label, and rotate food products correctly in accordance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and personal grooming, ensuring compliance with HACCP and applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Use kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, reporting any faults, damage, or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Support initiatives to minimize food waste through proper preparation, storage, portion control, and efficient use of ingredients.
  • Participate in cleaning schedules and ensure workstations, equipment, utensils, and kitchen areas are maintained to required standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 0-1 years of experience in a culinary role.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to established culinary and safety standards.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.
