About the Role

Air Products is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the commissioning, startup, and turnover phases of the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project. This full-time position is based in Duba, Tabuk Region, Saudi Arabia, operating on an 8 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF rotation. The role requires a strong focus on coordinating cybersecurity readiness activities in alignment with project execution requirements.

Role Context and Responsibilities

The Senior Project Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of project phases. This involves managing interfaces between construction, commissioning, controls, IT/OT cybersecurity, subcontractors, and internal Air Products stakeholders. A primary focus will be on coordinating and facilitating cybersecurity compliance readiness, ensuring alignment with SAIS / HCIS and National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) regulatory expectations. The position emphasizes coordination, follow-up, escalation, and documentation to support technical leads and cybersecurity managers.

  • Support commissioning, startup, and turnover activities in accordance with approved project plans and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary interfaces (Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls, IT/OT, Mechanical, Construction, Operations) during commissioning readiness.
  • Track schedule progress, identify slippages, and expedite critical activities, escalating delays through project governance.
  • Support cybersecurity readiness coordination during execution, commissioning, and turnover phases.
  • Act as a site-level coordination focal point for SAIS / HCIS and NCA-related execution inputs.
  • Organize and follow up on cybersecurity-related coordination meetings with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Maintain action trackers for commissioning and cybersecurity readiness items, ensuring timely closure and reporting.
  • Support change management activities by reviewing impacts of late design, installation, commissioning, or startup changes.
  • Identify, document, and escalate execution risks to the Project Manager and relevant leads.
  • Prepare and contribute to weekly and monthly execution status reports, including commissioning and cyber readiness highlights.
  • Promote a strong safety and compliance culture by ensuring activities adhere to approved procedures and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls, Electronics & Communications, IT, or an equivalent engineering discipline. A minimum of 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas or large industrial projects is required, with hands-on exposure to commissioning, startup, or turnover phases, preferably in the Middle East.

  • Demonstrated experience across the project life cycle, including schedule, cost, risk, safety, quality, and stakeholder management.
  • Working knowledge of industrial control systems, OT environments, and execution-phase coordination in EPC / PMC projects.
  • Visible commitment to safety and regulatory compliance during commissioning and cyber-related execution activities.
  • Support for adherence to Air Products EHS requirements, site procedures, and cybersecurity governance expectations.
  • Proactive identification and escalation of hazards, execution risks, and compliance gaps.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position located in Duba, within the Tabuk Region of Saudi Arabia. The work schedule involves a rotation of 8 weeks on duty followed by 2 weeks off.

Project Context

The NEOM Green Hydrogen Project represents a complex and large-scale flagship initiative for Air Products. The company is executing an EPC Contract with the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) for this project, which aims to drive innovation and enable groundbreaking production facilities.
