About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a General Superintendent 4 for Electrical & Instrumentation within a process plant environment. This full-time, project-based role is located in Taif, Saudi Arabia, supporting the Ar Rjum Project. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Project Context

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project situated in the Central Arabian Gold Region. It involves open pit mining, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and associated infrastructure. The project is located approximately 200 km north-east of Taif and 26 km south of Al Mouwayh.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and organizing subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders. The primary objective is to ensure operations are planned to align with established schedules and that work methods are executed safely.

  • Monitor and direct subcontractor activities through coordination and instruction of their management staff.
  • Support on large, complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Review and monitor subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Review and approve, as necessary, subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Lead the assessment of construction operations' impact on external interfaces to ensure alignment with overall established schedules.
  • Monitor the installation of materials and equipment to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor requirements, and other project stipulations.
  • Implement and enforce field construction management policies, procedures, and work rules.
  • Collaborate with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals.
  • Liaise with the Design team on constructability issues.

Education and Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and have 10-13 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 14-17 years of directly relevant work experience will be considered.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive experience managing Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) scope in large mineral processing plants.
  • Previous experience on gold processing plants.
  • Previous experience in mining & metals processing plants within the MENA region.
  • Extensive experience working with High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) equipment, cabling, and terminations.
  • Extensive experience in the pre-commissioning of HV/MV installations and large mineral processing plants.
