The Role of Engineering Supervisor

The Engineering Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the Engineering team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves ensuring the quality and timely execution of maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and responding to operational issues within a hospitality environment. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Engineering team.
• Assign maintenance tasks and monitor their completion to ensure quality and timely execution.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest areas, back-of-house areas, plant rooms, equipment, and hotel facilities.
• Ensure preventive maintenance programs are carried out according to established schedules.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, operational issues, and emergency situations.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and support the team in identifying effective solutions.
• Monitor the condition and operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Ensure all engineering work is performed in accordance with safety procedures, hotel standards, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment servicing.
• Monitor tools, equipment, spare parts, and engineering supplies, reporting replenishment requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors and external service providers, monitoring the quality of completed work.
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within the Engineering department.
• Ensure workshops, plant rooms, and engineering areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Communicate effectively with other departments regarding maintenance requirements and operational priorities.
• Support the training and development of Engineering team members and ensure proper working procedures are followed.
• Assist Engineering management with departmental projects, inspections, reporting, and operational requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or a related technical field.
• 5-10 years of previous experience in Engineering or Maintenance within the hospitality industry or a similar environment.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is preferred.
• Good knowledge of hotel building systems, preventive maintenance, and general maintenance practices.
• Understanding of health, safety, and engineering standards and procedures.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts, as required by hotel operations.
