Role Summary

The H&S Specialist is a full-time role focused on advising and assisting in the implementation and monitoring of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (H&S) strategy and management within the subsidiary. This position requires strict adherence to H&S laws and regulations, with a primary focus on preventive measures. The specialist will be responsible for identifying hazards, ensuring compliance, and fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain safety programs, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standardizing H&S practices.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential health, safety, and environmental hazards, recommending appropriate control measures.
• Support the development and review of job safety analyses or risk assessments.
• Initiate, organize, and perform H&S training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to promote a safety culture by encouraging safe work practices and recognizing employees who follow safety guidelines.
• Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the established line of authority.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes deemed dangerous or unhealthy.
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes.
• Prepare reports on occurrences, compile and maintain relevant registers, and provide statistical information to the reporting manager.
• Promote a positive safety culture by fostering employee engagement, recognition, and continuous improvement in HSE performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as an H&S Professional.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, including OSHA/EMS, Saudi Arabia’s HSE, COSHH, Confined Space, Lifting Operations, and Excavations.
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
• Experience in writing reports and developing policies/guidelines for health, safety, and environment.
• Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (*, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word). Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
• Certificate in occupational health, safety, and environment.
