Manager Operational Excellence

About the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a Manager - Operational Excellence to join its expanding Organization Excellence team. This full-time role involves supporting the business across multiple public and private sectors within the MEA region. The primary focus will be to lead day-to-day activities on engagements, contribute to building the Organization Excellence business, and develop the team. The role may require travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify business development opportunities with current and potential clients to contribute to profitability.
• Identify opportunities for new and integrated services, leveraging global business and technical domains for clients in the Middle East and beyond.
• Utilize capital projects knowledge and sector-specific expertise to develop innovative value propositions.
• Operate effectively within both traditional and agile project environments, demonstrating high-quality delivery amidst ambiguity.
• Steer project execution to deliver services aligned with client expectations.
• Manage all aspects of time, cost, and quality for consulting projects.
• Manage stakeholders and drive alignment and buy-in across projects.
• Build lasting relationships and influence senior colleagues and clients.
• Foster strong internal relationships across the SNC-Lavalin business.
• Leverage data and technology to provide innovative solutions to client challenges.
• Contribute to positioning Organization Excellence services across the Middle East through thought leadership development and social media presence.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to junior staff, and lead people-related initiatives including recruiting and retaining consulting professionals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree qualification or equivalent experience; a degree in Business Management or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years of overall experience, with 12+ years for Senior Manager level.
• Experience in the built environment, with specific experience in key capabilities such as Strategy, Organization Excellence through Operating Model Design, Business Process Management, People Advisory, and Capital Project Excellence. This experience should be gained in Management Consulting and Capital Projects Advisory environments or a relevant position with transferable skills.
• Experience in one or several key sectors.
• Strong track record in several of the following areas, particularly within a Capital Projects environment:
• Target Operating Model development.
• Current state assessment, benchmarking, and gap assessment against best practice.
• Strategy development (at departmental or organizational level), operational planning, and performance management.
• Mapping customer journeys, services, organizational or departmental scope, and process frameworks.
• Organizational design and organizational sizing.
• Development of departmental roles and responsibilities, and job descriptions.
• Development of competency frameworks and conducting competency assessments.
• Development of governance frameworks, including committee structure, terms of reference, delegation of authority, and three lines of defense.
• Development of detailed processes using tools like Visio or ARIS, standard operating procedures, and work instructions to improve organizational efficiency.
