This full-time Product Specialist - Oncology role is central to generating clinical demand for Oncology brands within key accounts, identifying business opportunities, and presenting value propositions aligned with stakeholder needs.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Product Specialist will develop strategic relationships with Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs), Decision Making Units (DMUs), and other stakeholders. This involves a deep scientific understanding of issues to identify opportunities within AstraZeneca's Oncology portfolio, aiming to deliver life-changing medicines to patients. The role requires approximately 90% field-based work and 10% office-based work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify strategies to improve the positioning of AstraZeneca's Oncology products locally.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop local strategies and business plans to meet targets.
  • Engage Oncology HCPs in discussions regarding approved indications, product efficacy/safety profiles, and treatment protocols.
  • Establish and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Share stakeholder insights internally to strengthen relevant activities such as product development, marketing, and sales efforts.
  • Build knowledge of AstraZeneca's overall Oncology value proposition and product data among MDT and DMU stakeholders.
  • Utilize various communication approaches, including science-based discussions, multidisciplinary workshops, and speaker programs.
  • Support Oncology nurses with relevant training, including chemotherapy and testing solutions.
  • Drive sales performance to ensure forecasts meet or exceed expectations while managing assigned budgets.
  • Promote the benefits of AstraZeneca's Oncology brands using fair balance messages and appropriate promotional tools.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of AstraZeneca's products in line with national/local guidelines and product licenses.
  • Complete all training requirements, including product examinations.
  • Comply with all external regulations and internal policies, adhering to the AstraZeneca Code of Ethics.
  • Report health/environment/wellbeing related accidents, adverse events, and changes in Conflict of Interest status in a timely manner.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated track record of engaging key stakeholders in complex clinical environments, including mid and senior-level healthcare professionals and key accounts.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholder decision-making processes within complex ecosystems with multiple influential players/decision-makers.
  • Successful experience working in complex cross-functional teams.
