SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

About the Role of Senior Accountant

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform professional accounting work. This full-time role involves the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general or cost accounting activities, applying accounting techniques and standard practices to classify and record financial transactions.
• Ensure proper handling of financial transactions and approvals within designated limits.
• Assist in the preparation of MIS reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.
• Establish tables of accounts and record all entries to their proper accounts, ensuring data fluidity and real-time information availability.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems using current computer technology.
• Perform internal audits of accounts payable, payroll distribution, fixed assets, and cash, making correcting journal entries as needed.
• Appraise, evaluate, and conduct inventory of real property and equipment, recording descriptive and value information.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrated insight and depth of understanding in general or cost accounting.
• Proficiency in applying generally accepted accounting principles and policies.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
• Strong analytical skills for assessing business operations and financial data.
• Proficient use of delegated and assigned accounting software for real-time financial reporting.
• Accuracy in auditing and making correcting journal entries.
• Meticulous attention to detail in inventory management and data presentation.

Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in professional accounting roles, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of financial data compilation, consolidation, and analysis.
