About the Role
Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Joint Venture Development Legal Practice within the Project Development & Finance Law Department of the Saudi Aramco Law Organization. This full-time role, designated as Senior Counsel, focuses on leading legal activities related to the development and implementation of joint ventures. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.
Role Context and Department Function
The Joint Venture Development Legal Practice is responsible for advising on, negotiating, and documenting Saudi Aramco’s project development and joint venture transactions. As Senior Counsel, you will lead the legal aspects of these initiatives, including the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of such transactions, ensuring legal compliance and strategic alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead legal activities for the negotiation and execution of financing transactions, including parent company bank debt, joint venture project financings, and capital markets issuances.
- Structure, negotiate, and document various financing transactions.
- Advise Management and internal clients on Saudi Aramco’s legal rights, obligations, agreements, and statutory requirements related to financing transactions.
- Assist Law Management and other attorneys in identifying and examining legal issues.
- Liaise and collaborate with outside counsel to negotiate and document transactions.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent.
- Current admission to general practice before the highest court of the state or country of which you are a citizen or resident.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a project development practice.
- Experience combining law firm and in-house roles within a corporation handling international project development and joint venture transactions.
- Demonstrable experience working directly with clients from transaction inception to completion.
- Hands-on experience structuring, drafting, negotiating, and leading transactions in a first or second chair capacity.
- Experience with international transactions principles.
- Experience in the oil and gas, refining, chemicals, power, or other energy-related industries, including renewable energy and new energies.
