About the Role

Microsoft Arabia is seeking a Solution Engineering - Data Platform (Middle East & Africa Lead) to join the Cloud & AI Solution Engineering team. This full-time role focuses on innovative data platforms for commercial customers in the era of AI. The position involves working on cutting-edge projects leveraging the latest technologies to drive significant impact, requiring 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Focus and Engagement

The primary focus of this role is to help enterprises unlock the full potential of Microsoft’s cloud database and analytics stack. This involves close collaboration with engineering leaders and platform teams to accelerate the Fabric Data Platform, including Azure Databases and Analytics. Engagements will include hands-on activities such as Proof of Concepts, hackathons, and architecture workshops. The role guides customers through secure, scalable solution design, influences technical decisions, and accelerates database and analytics migration into their deployment workflows, supporting the modernization of their data platform and the realization of Microsoft’s platform value.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive technical sales with decision makers using demos and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to influence solution design and enable production deployments.
• Lead hands-on engagements, including hackathons and architecture workshops, to accelerate adoption of Microsoft’s cloud platforms.
• Build trusted relationships with platform leads, co-designing secure and scalable architectures and solutions.
• Resolve technical blockers and objections, collaborating with engineering to share insights and improve products.

Required Qualifications and Technical Expertise

• Proven technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
• Expertise in Azure Databases, including SQL DB, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL, for migration, modernization, and creating new AI applications.
• Expertise in Azure Analytics, including Fabric (OneLake, DW, real-time intelligence, BI, Copilot), Azure Databricks, and Purview Data Governance.
• Familiarity with competitor analytics platforms such as BigQuery, Redshift, and Snowflake, covering data warehouse, data lake, big data, analytics, real-time intelligence, and reporting, including integrated Data Security & Governance.
• Proven ability to lead technical engagements (*, hackathons, PoCs, MVPs) that drive production-scale outcomes.
• Expertise in on-premise Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) solutions (Teradata, Netezza, Exadata), Hadoop, and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.

Professional Development and Industry Presence

The successful candidate will maintain and grow deep expertise across Microsoft’s Analytics Portfolio and Azure Databases, as well as in relevant on-premise solutions. This role also involves representing Microsoft through thought leadership in cloud Database & Analytics communities and customer forums.
