About the Role

Kempinski Hotels is seeking an Assistant Director of Food & Beverage to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern Province. This full-time position is designed to support Kempinski's vision of industry leadership, with a focus on enhancing the food and beverage offering as a key brand differentiator. The role is intended as a developmental path towards becoming a Head of Department for Food & Beverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, hygiene, and punctuality, setting an example for all staff.
  • Provide and ensure all employees deliver professional and courteous service at all times.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all hotel services, products, and food and beverage offerings.
  • Oversee the operations of assigned outlets as directed by the Head of Food & Beverage.
  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of the department's annual budget and monthly income statements.
  • Attend monthly performance meetings with Outlet Management.
  • Manage the consolidated inventory of Food & Beverage OS&E in conjunction with the stewarding department.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and hotel training sessions.
  • Conduct daily operations briefings with the Executive Chef in the absence of the Head of Food & Beverage.
  • Attend or conduct daily/weekly Food & Beverage meetings as required.
  • Review and update departmental operations manuals annually.
  • Assist in sourcing high-quality products, aiming for continuous improvement in quality and communication of offerings.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers.
  • Monitor and enhance quality and guest satisfaction using available tools like Leading Quality Assurance and Customer Satisfaction Surveys.
  • Assist in handling guest complaints effectively.
  • Oversee all services (breakfast, lunch, dinner, lobby, banqueting, room service, bar) at least once weekly.
  • Prepare a yearly marketing plan for assigned outlets, including competitor analysis, in cooperation with Sales & Marketing.
  • Stay informed about local and global food and beverage trends.
  • Ensure effective training programs are planned and implemented in assigned outlets.
  • Engage actively in outlet operations to ensure regular guest contact.
  • Respond to changes within the Food & Beverage department as directed by hotel management.
  • Serve as the secondary point of contact for the Corporate Food & Beverage Team.
  • Support the implementation of corporate policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Attend corporate conference calls and relevant regional/global Food & Beverage events when the Head of Department is unavailable.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in the food and beverage sector. The role requires a strong understanding of hospitality operations and a commitment to developing into a leadership position within the department.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, within Kempinski Hotels. The role involves active participation in daily operations and collaboration with various hotel departments and external suppliers.
