About the Role

Kempinski Hotels is seeking a Captain to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern Province. This full-time position involves leading service standards within a Lebanese restaurant, ensuring guest satisfaction and operational excellence. The role requires a candidate with 5-10 years of experience in a similar capacity.

Core Responsibilities

The Captain is responsible for overseeing the service delivery in the assigned outlet, ensuring it is courteous, professional, and efficient, aligning with Kempinski's standards and values. This role directly supervises Waiters, Waitresses, Hosts, and Hostesses, reporting to the Restaurant Supervisor, Assistant Restaurant Manager, or Restaurant Manager.

Service Delivery and Guest Engagement

  • Provide a courteous, professional, and efficient service to guests at all times.
  • Handle guest inquiries and feedback in a professional manner, reporting any complaints or issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Ensure a flawless service is delivered to the highest standards required by the department and the hotel.
  • Lead the service team and act as a role model, maintaining a positive and motivated attitude.

Operational Duties and Standards

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all food and beverage items offered, including the ability to explain and upsell products.
  • Monitor operating supplies, equipment, and actively work to reduce spoilage and wastage.
  • Ensure the place of work and surrounding areas are kept clean and organized at all times.
  • Successfully perform opening and closing procedures for the assigned outlet.
  • Operate the existing POS system according to trained responsibilities.
  • Adhere strictly to hotel policies regarding fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
  • Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.

Team Leadership and Communication

  • Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with colleagues within the department and across the hotel.
  • Attend and contribute to all scheduled staff meetings and departmental trainings.
  • Ensure great communication within the team and conduct team meetings in the absence of the Restaurant Supervisor.
  • Possess a complete understanding of the restaurant's concept and act as a guardian of service, food, and beverage standards.
  • Demonstrate a great sense of supervision, controlling service effectively without focusing on one area only.

Professional Presentation and Conduct

Report to duty punctually, wearing the correct, clean, and well-pressed uniform, including polished shoes and nametag, adhering to the hotel's dress code and Kempinski grooming standards. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times. Undertake reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Department Head and respond to any changes in the department as directed by hotel management.
