Cataloging Engineer

About the Role

Assystem is seeking a Cataloging Engineer to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time role involves organizing, classifying, cataloging, and maintaining various engineering documents and technical information. The primary objective is to ensure that all engineering data is accurate, searchable, consistently classified, and readily accessible to authorized users, adhering to organizational standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a structured catalog for engineering documents, drawings, specifications, manuals, equipment, and technical materials.
• Assign unique identification numbers, metadata, keywords, and classification codes to technical records.
• Review engineering documents for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established cataloging standards.
• Maintain and update document registers, material catalogs, equipment databases, and technical information management systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, maintenance, quality assurance, and document control teams to verify technical information.
• Identify duplicate, obsolete, superseded, and incomplete records, ensuring appropriate updates are made.
• Establish and maintain cataloging procedures, naming conventions, indexing rules, and data quality standards.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of document management systems, ERP platforms, CMMS, or other technical databases.
• Prepare cataloging reports, data quality reports, and status updates for management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable industry standards, and information security requirements.

Experience Required

• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in cataloging or document management within an engineering context.
