About the Principal Telecommunication Engineer Role

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer Telecommunication to join its multi-discipline engineering teams in Al Khobar, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on delivering comprehensive telecommunication and security solutions for projects within the oil and gas and petrochemical industries.

Project Scope and Focus

The Principal Engineer will contribute to both greenfield and brownfield projects, covering the full project lifecycle from conceptual studies and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) through detailed design and complete installation. The role involves developing client technical requirements into commercial design solutions for various telecommunications systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute comprehensive telecom and security solutions for diverse oil and gas and petrochemical projects.
  • Design telecommunications solutions for offshore or onshore projects.
  • Develop philosophies, specifications, block drawings, and datasheets for all systems.
  • Support the development of drawings, layouts, cable routing drawings, cable schedules, interconnection & termination diagrams, telecom installation drawings, scope of works, RFQs, and material requests.
  • Review telecommunications vendor documentation and interface between package vendors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Over 15 years of expertise in telecommunications.
  • Successful delivery experience in a range of telecommunications systems, including:
    • Aeronautical navigation and communications systems
    • CCTV systems
    • Data networks
    • Marine navaids and communications systems
    • Optical fiber communications systems
    • Public address and general alarm systems
    • Radio systems
    • Satellite communications systems
  • Hands-on project experience in designing telecommunications solutions for offshore or onshore environments.

Essential Skills and Technical Knowledge

Candidates must possess strong familiarity with HCIS and Saudi Aramco standards and procedures. A comprehensive awareness of these standards is essential for successful project execution within the region.

Preferred Certifications

RCDD and PSP certifications are preferred qualifications for this role.
