About the Role

alfanar is seeking a Senior Telecommunication Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 4 to 6 years of experience in implementing and maintaining efficient and reliable communication systems within an automation environment. The role is focused on ensuring smooth operation and control of distribution and substation automation systems through effective data exchange and integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing the telecommunication network infrastructure, including selecting appropriate communication technologies (*, fiber optics, microwave, radio) and specifying necessary equipment.
• Selecting and implementing communication protocols and standards to ensure reliable and secure data transfer between devices and systems in distribution and substation automation environments.
• Ensuring seamless integration of telecommunication systems with other automation components, such as control systems, monitoring devices, sensors, and protection equipment.
• Testing and verifying the performance and reliability of telecommunication systems through tests, simulations, and evaluations.
• Troubleshooting communication issues and failures, taking appropriate actions for resolution.
• Upgrading telecommunication systems by monitoring performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing enhancements to ensure overall infrastructure reliability.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of telecommunication systems, including network diagrams, configurations, protocols, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Preparing reports on system performance, issues, and recommendations for improvements.
• Ensuring compliance of telecommunication systems with relevant standards, regulations, and safety guidelines for distribution automation and substation automation projects.

A strong understanding of network infrastructure design, communication protocols, and system integration is essential. The ability to test, troubleshoot, and upgrade complex systems is required.
