About the Role
Parsons is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time role involves delivering traffic and transport studies for major infrastructure and development projects. The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary design teams and clients to develop data-driven solutions that enhance network performance, safety, and mobility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop traffic reports, including traffic impact studies, traffic impact assessments, traffic survey reports, and methodology reports.
- Perform travel demand modeling using software packages such as PTV VISUM and EMME.
- Conduct traffic operational analysis for road networks using software including Sidra, Synchro, HCS, and PTV VISSIM.
- Conduct parking studies covering demand and supply, parking design within buildings, traffic circulation, and determining access/egress points.
- Prepare traffic signage and road marking plans.
- Prepare Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP).
- Maintain first-level quality assurance to ensure all work within the discipline adheres to traffic and transportation industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to bring projects from concept to completion.
- Support project managers and senior staff by participating in client meetings to discuss project requirements and deliverables.
- Work within established project teams to deliver planning, design, and junction analysis tasks.
- Liaise with RCRC, RCMC, Municipalities, MOT, and other KSA local authorities' officials as required.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of project documentation in compliance with relevant local authorities.
- Perform other related duties as required by the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in traffic engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) KSA.
- Experience with micro-mobility devices such as bicycles, e-bicycles, and e-scooters for first and last-mile connectivity.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in travel demand modeling software including PTV VISUM and EMME.
- Proficiency in traffic operational analysis software such as Sidra, Synchro, HCS, and PTV VISSIM.
- Ability to develop practical, data-driven solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, where the Senior Traffic Engineer will contribute to significant infrastructure and development projects within a collaborative team setting.
