About the Role

Matar Holding Company is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager for its Agriculture Business Division. Based in Dammam, Eastern Region, this full-time role involves overseeing all aspects of financial accounting, ensuring accurate reporting, and contributing to strategic financial decision-making. The Assistant Finance Manager will be responsible for maintaining robust internal controls, managing financial risks, and driving process improvements within the division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial accounting processes and transactions, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing, and proper general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and variance analyses for the business unit and senior management.
  • Conduct regular reviews of transactions to identify incorrect or unusual recordings and ensure proper validation.
  • Manage month-end provisions and accruals, ensuring the matching principle of cost with revenue.
  • Ensure 3-way validation of invoices prior to booking and payment processing.
  • Develop strategic relationships with stakeholders and provide insights to support strategic decision-making and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Participate in the division's budgeting process in collaboration with FPM and department heads.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards (such as IFRS/GAAP) and regulations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks such as currency, interest rate, and credit risks.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, driving process improvements and automation.
  • Contribute to the group's financial strategy, providing recommendations for performance improvement and resource optimization.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial expertise for business initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors for timely completion of audit deliverables.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and capital expenditure projects, conducting cost-benefit analyses and providing recommendations.
  • Lead and manage the finance team within the division, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Prepare and report ZAKAT, Tax, and monthly VAT in Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional qualification such as ACA, CPA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership position.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including financial reporting, auditing, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven leadership abilities and a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with ERP systems is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.

Preferred Background

  • Knowledge of Agricultural business, Animal Feed manufacturing, and Poultry farms.
  • Experience in the Agriculture or Poultry Farm business.

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia.
