Assistant Finance Manager, Agriculture Business Division

Matar Al-Baqami Holding is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager for its Agriculture Business Division. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The role involves comprehensive oversight of financial operations and strategic financial management within the division.

About the Position

The Assistant Finance Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of financial accounting processes and reporting for the Agriculture Business Division. This position requires ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and driving efficiency in financial operations, while also providing critical financial insights to senior management and stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial accounting processes and transactions, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes and proper general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for the business unit within the Division.
• Conduct regular review and analysis of transactions to detect incorrect or unusual recordings.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and other financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure transactions are recorded accurately with proper validation, make month-end provisions and accruals, and ensure the principle of matching cost with revenue.
• Ensure 3-way validation of invoices prior to booking and payment processing.
• Develop strategic relationships with stakeholders and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
• Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives, including finance charges.
• Participate in the budgeting process for the division, working closely with FPM and department heads.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
• Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards (such as IFRS/GAAP) and regulations.
• Identify and assess financial risks faced by the division, such as currency risk, interest rate risk, and credit risk, and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency, driving process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of the group's financial strategy and objectives, providing recommendations to improve financial performance and optimize resource allocation.
• Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders, including senior management.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and strategic projects, providing financial expertise and guidance.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors to facilitate the audit process and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables.
• Evaluate investment opportunities and capital expenditure projects within the division, conducting cost-benefit analysis and providing recommendations to senior management.
• Lead and manage the finance team within the division, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team's effectiveness and professional development.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Professional qualification such as ACA, CPA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
• At least 5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership position.

Desired Skills and Industry Knowledge

• Demonstrated knowledge of preparing and reporting ZAKAT, Tax, and monthly VAT in Saudi Arabia.
• Preferable experience in the Agriculture business, Animal Feed manufacturing, or Poultry Farm business.
